Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process of Jurnal Sahabat ISNU SU
-
Initial Screening
Upon submission, the editor conducts an initial evaluation to ensure that the manuscript fits within the scope and focus of the journal and meets the formal requirements such as formatting and writing guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these basic criteria will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.
-
Reviewer Assignment
For manuscripts that pass the initial screening, the editor assigns two or more external reviewers who have expertise in fields relevant to the manuscript’s content. Jurnal Sahabat ISNU SU applies a double-blind peer review system, in which both the authors’ and reviewers’ identities are kept confidential to maintain objectivity.
-
Review Process
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several criteria, including originality, research significance, quality of analysis and arguments, clarity of expression, and adherence to academic and research ethics standards. Reviewers provide comments and recommendations that may fall into the following categories:
-
Accept without revision
-
Accept with minor revisions
-
Accept with major revisions
-
Reject
-
Feedback Collection and Evaluation
The editor collects all feedback from reviewers and makes a decision based on their recommendations. If reviewers’ opinions differ, the editor may request an additional review from a third reviewer or make an editorial decision based on professional judgment.
-
Decision Communication to Authors
The editor communicates the decision to the authors, which may be acceptance, conditional acceptance with revisions, or rejection. Reviewer comments (without disclosing their identities) are shared with the authors to guide revisions or to clarify the reasons for rejection.
-
Revision Process
If the manuscript is accepted with revisions, authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ suggestions and resubmit them within the specified timeframe. Authors must also provide a revision letter explaining the changes made and addressing all reviewer comments.
-
Revision Verification
Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the editor and, if necessary, returned to the original reviewers for reassessment. This process continues until the manuscript meets all acceptance criteria.
-
Final Decision
Once the manuscript satisfies all requirements, the editor makes the final decision to accept it for publication. The editor is responsible for ensuring that the peer review process has been conducted fairly and thoroughly before the manuscript is published.
The peer review process of Jurnal Sahabat ISNU SU is designed to ensure that every article published reflects high standards of quality and integrity, and contributes meaningfully to the advancement of knowledge and practices in the field of education.
